The International CES (or simply CES, acronym of Consumer Electronics Show) is a major technology-related trade show held each January in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Not open to the public, the Consumer Electronics Association-sponsored show typically hosts previews of products and new product announcements.
Monster Products is one of the larger presenters at CES, bringing to the tech heavy show top notch performance shows, like this years Alicia Keys- Girl on Fire. More than any other consumer-friendly audio company, Monster Cable has always had an immaculate sense of branding. Since the first company teamed up with Dr. Dre to create the Beats by Dre product line, Monster has positioned itself as the most iconic brand for seemingly high-end headphones and audio equipment for the average music fan. “We always lead, never follow,” Noel Lee, Head Monster, said of his company. “Today, it’s about the explosion in high quality audio.”
Monster Produucts not only understands about branding but also has a high sense of how to leverage social media with it’s events, This year at CES, Gina Hughes, who is their Social Media Guru and blogger expert, designed a social media strategy that would not only give their PR group a lot of content to share, but would also have their social sites buzzing.
During the course of 5 days at the CES convention, Unleashed Productions was asked by Monster to produce 60 videos, 12 videos every day to be exact. These videos were to be short little snippets of highlights of the CES convention and of course highlights of the happenings at the Monster booth itself. Every morning by 9am, the social media and the Public Relations teams had 12 new videos that they could push each in their field.
The result was that Monster gained a lot of traction not only in the CES crowd but as a leader in the social media realm. Subscription to their social outlets like Youtube, Facebook, Pinterst and Twitter increased giving them them a larger audience to introduce their new lines of products and an audience that wants to listen to what they have to say.
Many times are asked here at Unleashed Productions, before we embark on a new production project…What is the best Social Media Strategy? The truth on social media strategy is to ensure you are giving your audience content they are interested in, content they will want to share and importantly content that is relevant and timely. If your company or brand is sponsoring an event (and spending buckets of money to do so) make sure that you create branded content, wicked content that makes your brand look phenomenal and importantly ready to share within 24 hours of the event, because who wants to read news of last week?
